The Art of Teaching 200-Hour RYT Training

JUNE 10 - JULY 7, 2018

Sola School’s 200-hour yoga teacher training program combines contemporary Buddhist philosophy, social justice and activism, and an alignment-oriented approach to the essentials of yoga postures and teaching. Our unique program prepares teachers to work in studios as well as with diverse populations and special needs.

Our program is structured as a 4-week immersion, followed by 8 months of independent study and practice. The immersion portion of our training offers a transformative environment that facilitates deep self-growth, clarity, and personal commitment. In the months that follow you will integrate your learning through volunteer service, independent research, and practice teaching.

Whether you intend to become a yoga teacher, or simply wish to deepen your personal practice, our training offers a rich study and integration of asana, meditation, pranayama, and yoga philosophy. Throughout your time with us you will develop your teaching skills, strengthen your working understanding of alignment, sequencing, and therapeutic intent, and cultivate a deeply personal relationship to the foundations of yogic philosophy. Our program prepares graduates to teach hatha, hatha flow, and vinyasa styles, and gives them the necessary skills to modify and adapt practices for a wide range of body needs and conditions.

Participants can expect approximately 40 hours of class time per week during the immersion as well as additional reading and group assignments. 12 hours of volunteer service and a final project is required for graduation and must be completed within 8 months. Practice teaching opportunities in studio settings are offered but not required.

* This program is Yoga Alliance Approved and upon completion of all requirements, you are eligible for application to the Yoga Alliance for 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) status.  Additionally, you can apply to any 500-hour yoga teacher training program for continued education.

“Sarah and Renee’s YTT program offered a fresh perspective of yoga to me. I came away from the training with a wider sense of what yoga is, and what yoga can be. Their individual and collective creativity, sense of humor, dedication to personal practice, and ability to hold space for their students is inspiring. Sarah and Renee use concise language, that encourages working from within the body; this allows an authentic experience of individual anatomy and process. As co- teachers, they consciously blend their knowledge and styles, to create a unique, comprehensive training program for anyone looking to deepen their practice. ”
